Polycarbonate (PC)

Mainly used in the glass assembly industry, automobile industry and electronic, electrical industry, followed by industrial machinery parts, CD, packaging, computer and other office equipment, medical and health care, film, leisure and protective equipment.

Polycarbonate PC is a linear carbonated polyester in which the carbonated groups are arranged alternately with other groups that may be aromatic, aliphatic, or both.Aromatic polycarbonate is currently used as engineering plastics.

Thermal performance

PC mold products have good heat resistance, long-term use temperature can reach 130℃, and has good cold resistance, embrittlement temperature of -100℃. PC has no obvious melting point, in 220-230℃ was baked state, due to the larger molecular chain rigidity, the melt viscosity is higher than some other thermoplastics.

Mechanical properties of

PC mold products have excellent physical and mechanical properties, especially excellent impact strength, good dimensional stability, can still maintain a high mechanical strength at low temperature;However, the fatigue resistance strength is low, the stress cracking is easy to occur, and the wear resistance is poor.Unmodified PC is colorless and transparent, and has good visible light transmissibility.

Chemical properties

PC mold products are stable to acid and oil media, but not alkali resistant, soluble in chlorine generation.PC has good hydrolysis resistance, but long-term immersion in boiling water is easy to cause hydrolysis and cracking, can not be used in repeated high-pressure steam products.PC is susceptible to some organic solvents, although it can be resistant to weak acids, aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohol aqueous solution, but can be dissolved in organic solvents containing chlorine.

It is easy to release the toxic substance bisphenol A, which is harmful to human body.Do not use it in heat or in direct sunlight.
